Additional Facts

Choose vinyl
Vinyl replacement windows may be a good solution if your previous window had a great deal of condensation build-up. Vinyl, unlike aluminum keeps the window warm rather than cold which will virtually eliminate the condensation problem.

What to include when estimating the replacement
Of course the cost of the new window, with tax is to be considered, but you also need to consider the trim work, the interior window sills as well as the cost of removing the old windows unless you are doing it yourself.

Simple solutions to save energy
If you have south and west facing windows, close the curtains during the day if it is summertime. Awning windows are a good solution for south and west facing windows and you can also add reflective films to south facing windows to reduce the solar heat in the room.
