DOORS WIDE OPEN - Making Good Project's 1st Event!
On January 24, 2012, Doors Wide Open introduced Toronto’s young people to the people behind the jobs and help them learn more about the different paths to success from various sectors including private, public and non-profit.
UPDATE: BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT CAME OUT TO THE EVENT AND EVERYONE WHO WAS A PART OF IT IN ALL STEPS OF PREPARATION!
We received a lot of positive feedback from youth participants! We'd love to hear more from you if you participated and still haven't let us know what you thought! Fill out the survey here: Joe Fresh giftcards are still up for grabs for the winner!

What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher? A doctor? An astronaut?
The employment world is full of possibilities – most young people just don’t know what options are out there. Making Good aims to change that, by exposing young people to the range of job options that exist in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors, as well as across non-traditional fields like the arts. We connect with youth in a way that’s intriguing and meaningful to them, helping them find their true calling by actually listening to them.
The result? A better match between the skills, talents and passions of Toronto’s young people and the career opportunities that exist on our market. In the long-run, that means lower youth unemployment rates and greater job satisfaction all around.
The Making Good project will test a number of different approaches over the next three years to hone in on what will really make a difference in connecting young people with the careers they want and deserve. Our method will rigorously test creative and innovative solutions, implementing improvements all along the way.
Real people.
Real passions.
Real career journeys.
It’s the things you always wanted to know but no classroom could ever tell you.
This event is catered towards 18-25 year olds. With popular demand, we may create future events catered to high school youth or above 25 youth. Please stay updated with the activities of Making Good Project here or on our Facebook and/or Twitter.
